This is an incredible episode. I was blessed with the opportunity to speak to Dr. Carron Silva about Apartheid. She explained a little bit about what that system was and then shared how the oppression of a group of people, based solely on their skin color, impacted a country and individual families.
We tend to think globally, understandably so, when we hear about atrocities occurring to entire groups of people. What we may not consider is how those atrocities trickle down to the individual families & people who are part of that group.
I am marking this episode explicit because of a couple of the topics involved. There is no foul language, but some of the events mentioned may be difficult to hear. But we must not be afraid to speak of these sensitive topics; we must give them voice if we are to take away their power.
